Do I even need to comment? Finally, Decade is released! Here is the first disc of 1998-2002. (Which isn't really a decade, but who cares?) Again, the starred tracks are the best of the best, in my opinion. I grew up on this tracks and I'm so happy they're now showcased in one brilliant album. A great place to start for J-rock beginners. These tracks show just how melodic and heart-wrenching Dir en grey can be; Kyo's voice completely and totally wins you over.

the GazettE - Guren - Auditory Impression01. Guren
02. Kugutsu e
03. Kyomu no owari, Hakodzume no mokushi
Brand-new the GazettE! A lovely new single reminiscent of Cassis; a year has passed since their last single HYENA. (Sadly enough, their third album STACKED RUBBISH was a bunch of shallow songs... the GazettE themselves admit that the album wasn't their brightest achievement.) Guren, however, brings back that the GazettE spark. "Guren" is at once minimalistic and lyrical--beautifully executed instrumentals are held up by background strings. "Kugutsu e" may begin calm but quickly transitions to a heavy bass and fast beat, energizing the single. "Kyomu no owari, Hakodzume no mokushi" caught me a little off-guard because of its similar style to old-school Diru. It really sounds like something Kyo would sing. After the first verse, the song bursts into piano in much the same way as "Chizuru." This single is a masterpiece and quite worth the download, if just for the guitar solo in the third track.
X-JAPAN - I.V.01. I.V.
An X-JAPAN reunion? Yes it is. Originally the theme for SAW 4, due to be released later this year, Yoshiki flatly refused to put the track on the SAW 4 soundtrack and it awaits to be included on the new X-JAPAN album now in the works. (But who knows when it'll be out now that Yoshiki SHOULD be hard at work with SKIN... Then again, whatever happened to all his other projects? -_-) But that does not detract from the amazing sound of I.V.; my love for X-JAPAN is refueled and recharged, with a tiny bit of nostalgia for an unforgettable departed guitarist.
